Public Internet Use

The Fitzwilliam Town Library offers direct access to high-speed Internet as part of its commitment to the role of the public library in the Information Age.

  • The library has three public PC computers and free Wi-Fi – both in and outside the building. Login is required. To access the wireless connect to FitzwilliamLibrary with password Fitzwilliam.
  • Wi-Fi printing not currently available.
  • The Fitzwilliam Town Library, its Trustees and staff do not control the Internet. The Internet is a global entity. As with other library materials, restriction of a child’s access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian. Parents are encouraged to come in with their children and supervise Internet sessions. Thus, the Fitzwilliam Town Library will not use blocking or filtering software to limit access to Internet sites.
  • The library cannot protect you from information which you may find controversial or offensive. Not all sites on the Internet provide accurate, complete or current information.
  • You may not use the library’s computers for any illegal purposes including unauthorized access, software piracy, or transmission of copyrighted materials without approval. You are expected to engage in responsible, ethical use of the Internet which includes not sending, receiving, or displaying text or graphics which may reasonably be construed as obscene.
  • We remind users that confidentiality and privacy cannot be guaranteed when using email and the Internet.
