Carl Gravina of Wells Fargo Advisors met with the board for the annual review of the Library’s portfolio. Our portfolio is well balanced between equities and bond funds and is positioned to withstand as much as possible the volatility of the current markets.
We approved the minutes of the July 10, 2012 and July 16, 2012 meetings with corrections to a typo.
Jeremy Vanderkern began working on July 18th as a part time assistant. He will work on Monday and Wednesday evenings. He will also take on some of the technology work that Dave Kenney had been doing.
The KOHA upgrade took place on August 6th.
The summer reading program ends August 9th with a magic show.
Susan reported that the current show of historic photographs has been well received. To date more than 200 visitors had gone upstairs to view it. The next art show begins August 18th with works by Sybille Leary.
The book sale will be held September 22nd and beginning August 14th the community room will become the staging area for book donations.
Susan will be on vacation August 20th through September 4th. Jeremy and Donna will be covering the desk.
We signed the manifest.
Nick commended Susan for all her hard work on the celebration for the 100th anniversary of the Library. Over 100 people were served cupcakes and punch at our reception.
