Minutes for the Library Trustees Meeting, Sept 10, 2012

Present: Maggie Brogdon, Barbara Green, Richard Mays, Nick Noyes, Cathie Talbert, and Susan Massin

We approved the August minutes.

Librarian’s report
Susan reported that she has purchased the Mango Language program and that it has been activated. In October it will be available to patrons. Barbara will write a check from the Massin fund to pay for this. Funds from the Massin Memorial Fund will also be used to improve the library’s travel collection. Susan will be asking patrons for recommendations.

In October Susan will begin budget preparation. The selectmen are asking that current funding should be continued for 2013. Exterior painting of the front of the building will be included as a CIP item.
We may need to find someone new to shovel snow.

Susan noted that we need to have the carpets cleaned. Cathie suggested that we use the money still remaining in the building fund to pay for this. Susan will get quotes.

Library Programs and Events
The current art show will be taken down on Sat, Sept 15. This is the last show of 2012.
Book Sale is Sat, Sept 22.
Story hour and Junior Book group begin the first week of Oct. Jeremy may begin Kindle/downloadable book classes in Nov.

E. Massin Memorial Fund
The public meeting to accept the fund and trustee management will be, Mon, Oct 1 at 5:55PM. Barbara noted that we will need to discuss changes to our investment policy after that meeting.

Richard Mays moved that the trustees go into a nonpublic session per RSA 91-A:3, paragraph II(c), to discuss a matter that would likely affect adversely the reputation of a person other than a member of this public . Barbara seconded the motion. The roll call vote went as follows–

Cathie Talbert moved that the trustees end the nonpublic session per RSA 91-A:3, paragraph III, and seal the minutes. Maggie seconded the motion. The roll call vote went as follows—

The next regular meeting is Mon, Oct 1 at 6PM. The meeting was adjourned at 6:57PM.
